The Elonex ONE was launched on February 28, 2008 at the The Education Show at the NEC in Birmingham with an announced shipping date of June 2008. At £99, it is described by its manufacturer as the cheapest notebook in the UK.

With Elonex' vision of every pupil having his/her own laptop to improve computer literacy across the nation, the Elonex ONE is marketed to the education sector. Elonex has also promised to donate 1 ONE to underprivileged children from disadvantaged areas for every hundred sold.
